Community Development Block Grant
The Community Development Block Grant Program is a federal grant for housing and community development projects that benefit low and moderate-income persons.
Rockville is accepting applications for an anticipated $263,000 in federal CDBG funds it will receive in fall 2019. CDBG money can be used to provide grants to housing providers for housing and community development projects that benefit low- and moderate-income households or neighborhoods.
Fiscal Year 20 grants will fund projects during July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020.

Public HearingOn September 24 at 7 p.m., the city will hold a public hearing at city hall on community needs for CDBG projects. Applicants are encouraged to attend.
Testimony is limited to three minutes for individuals and five minutes for an association or organization. If you are interested in speaking, contact the City Clerk's office at 240-314-2880 by 4 p.m. on September 24.
Written testimony from the public will be accepted until October 8, 2018.

||Replace 15 aging water heaters in units in the David Scull site with tank less water heaters. The new tank less heaters will be more efficient and will reduce Carbon Monoxide emissions. The total project cost is $73,000.
|Single-Family/Owner Occupied Rehab
||Provide repair and rehabilitation services assistance to seven(7) households at an estimated cost of $30,000 for each unit.
|Community Ministries of Rockville||CMR proposes to undertake energy efficiency improvements in the Jefferson House. Specifically, the project seeks to repair the existing wooded window sashes and installation of storm windows. The total cost of the project is $22,229.||$18,131|

||In its CDBG grant application proposal, RHE seeks to replace 27 aging water heaters in units in the David Scull site with tank less water heaters. The new tank less heaters will be more efficient and will reduce CO2 emission. The total cost of the project is $108,000.||$60,000|
