Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville will conduct a public hearing on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, in the Council Chambers, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with the preparation and development of the FY 2020 budget.

The Mayor and Council is seeking public input for the development and creation of the FY 2020 Operating and Capital Improvements Program budget.

Persons wishing to testify at the hearing are asked to call 240-314-8280 before 4:00 p.m. on the date of the hearing to have their names placed on the speakers’ list.

Charter Amendment 2018 - Sec 1, Article II Residency

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, in the Council Chamber, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with a Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Rockville, pursuant to Article XI-E of the Constitution of Maryland, Sections 4-303 and 4-304 of the Local Government Article, and Article V of the Charter of the City of Rockville, as amended, to amend Section 1 of Article II so as to clarify that members of the Mayor and Council must continue residency in the City during their tenure in office.

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, in the Council Chamber, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with a Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Rockville, pursuant to Article XI-E of the Constitution of Maryland, Sections 4-303 and 4-304 of the Local Government Article, and Article V of the Charter of the City of Rockville, as amended, to amend Section 5 of Article III so as to provide more specific requirements for filling vacancies in the office of Mayor or Councilmember and to clarify certain terminology.

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, in the Council Chamber, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with a Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Rockville, pursuant to Article XI-E of the Constitution of Maryland, Sections 4-303 and 4-304 of the Local Government Article, and Article V of the Charter of the City of Rockville, as amended, to amend Section 5 of Article III so as to modify the timeframe in which a special election is required to fill a vacancy in the office of Mayor or Councilmember.

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, in the Council Chambers, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with a series of amendments to Chapter 8, “Elections” of the Rockville City Code so as to clarify and modify certain provisions regarding special elections and filling Mayor and Council vacancies.
